VIC MILLER

Vic Miller was born and raised in White Sulphur Springs, Montana. He spent a year in Seattle studying radio broadcasting and then was a member of the Army Signal Corps during the Korean conflict.

Mr. Miller began his broadcasting career with KOOK radio in Billings in 1953 and moved over to KOOK TV (now KTVQ in 1959). He worked as a news anchor, operations director, and served as General Manager of the station for 18 years. Vic did weekly commentary on KTVQ-2 News through the end of 2013.

Vic is a past president of the downtown Billings Rotary Club and was President of the Montana Broadcasters Association in 1975. He was named the 1994 Montana Media Advocate of the Year by the Small Business Administration and was the recipient of the first annual Chancellor’s award from Montana State University-Billings, and the Distinguished Service Award from Rocky Mountain College.

Vic was inducted into the Montana Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 1998 and became a trustee of the Greater Montana Foundation in 2000. He had the pleasure of knowing and working with Ed Craney for a number of years.
Vic and his wife JoAnne celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2006. They have two grown sons and five grandchildren.
