Linda Gray, Chair

Linda Gray worked 42 years in radio and television broadcasting in multiple markets in the South, Mid-Atlantic, East, Mid-West, and Mountain regions of the US before her retirement in 2022.

She is a native of Buffalo, New York and began her broadcast career in radio sales in Shreveport, Louisiana. After a move to a radio station in Virginia Beach,Virginia and subsequent promotion to sales manager, Linda switched to television where she joined the sales management team of WTVZ in Norfolk, Virginia. She became general manager of WLFL-TV in Raleigh, North Carolina in 1987. From there, her career took her to Syracuse, New York where she managed the Fox and UPN affiliated stations, and then to Indianapolis where she managed the Tribune Company-owned Fox affiliate. While in Syracuse, she served as an adjunct instructor of Telecommunications Management at the SI Newhouse School of Public Communication at Syracuse University.

In April 2001, Linda left WXIN to form FrogLight Productions, LLC to produce and market short-form content for local newscasts. She rejoined the television broadcast segment of the industry in late 2002 as President of Max Media of Montana to build a statewide network of stations in Montana, consisting of the ABC and FOX stations in Missoula, Kalispell, Butte, Bozeman, Great Falls and Helena and the NBC station in Billings. When the company was sold in December 2013, she consulted for broadcast stations in the eastern US and Puerto Rico, before becoming Chief Operating Officer of Marquee Broadcasting until her retirement.

Her career accomplishments include the creation and successful launch of a 3-hour daily morning newscast in Indianapolis, late news launches in Raleigh and Syracuse, newscast launches on the Max Montana Fox & ABC stations and a statewide college football network in Montana. She oversaw the station group’s complete transition to digital, becoming the first stations in Montana to deliver all programming, news, and commercials in high-definition. Linda is the co-creator and executive producer of “Kitchen Guy” –a short form feature segment which aired on stations across the country from 2002 through 2013.

She has served on a broad range of industry boards including INTV/ALTV, state broadcast associations in New York and Indiana, the Fox Affiliate Board of Governors, the Fox Affiliate News Advisory Committee, the NAB Small Market Committee, Nielsen’s A2/M2 Client Committee, the board of Montana Ambassadors and worked with many non-profit community and business organizations in various leadership capacities.
