Charlene Porsild, pHD Executive Director

A native of Canada’s Yukon, Charlene has lived in the mountain west most of her life.  She is an author, historian, administrator, and grantmaker with over 30 years of experience in higher education, museums, archives, and the nonprofit sector.  

A former Fulbright Scholar, she holds degrees from the University of Alberta, the University of Ottawa, and Canada’s Carleton University.  When she’s not in the office, you’ll probably find her poking about in an historic cemetery or paddling her kayak on one of Montana’s beautiful lakes or rivers.
